Northern Soul Movie

I decided to sit and watch th Northern Soul movie to get a feel for the era and see what the fashion and music was really like in life rather than just looking at photographs. The movie is about one boy who gets forced by his parents to go to a youth club due to not having many friends or any sort of soical circle. The youth club starts playing soul music and transforms into a Northern Soul Club. The movie showcases the vibes born from this up tempo new music with the crazy dancing and quick steps. This inspired me for my ideas about my Northern Soul fashion film, to have half of the video display the iconic records and anphetamine which is so vital to the Northn Soul scene, then half of the video to be filled with dance and music. Also in the movie you see the protagonist find friendships through Northern Soul which shows the sense of community created through the dance clubs. This also isnpired me to portray friendships in the photoshoot too, so by having a few friends pose with one antoher. I also really liked the ending song to the movie, with is Turning My Heart Beat Up bceause it starts slow but then gets really upbeat, I decided to us this same song in our video and it is Northern Soul movie inspired.
